Faculty of operation and economics of transport and communications in the academic year / opening the following study programmes with a total planned number of accepted students: in full-time study 745 students. Study in full-time form lasts for 3 years and after successful completion of the study to graduate with a Bachelor's degree.

Graduates from the study programme Road Transport may operate successfully in transport companies, industrial companies in controlling transport and logistics companies and in state administration in planning and controlling resident traffic in the region. They may also find employment as operational employees and middle management members for planning and control of transport operation in domestic and international road transport, also in the position of reception technicians in service workshops for road vehicles and in the positions of road vehicle salespeople, etc.
The graduates will operate successfully mainly at the basic and middle levels of management railway transport and shipping operation, as well as in the field of railway transport economics. Further they may find employment in companies with siding areas, in forwarding companies, with operators of combined transport, in transport departments of industrial companies and at state administration authorities, as well as vocational schools.
The graduates from the study programme Air Transport may operate successfully in organisations of civil aviation (airline companies, companies performing air works, providers of navigation services, aviation operation services, maintenance organisations, handling and catering companies) and in state administration (Aviation Authorities, Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development) in the Slovak Republic, EU and also all over the world upon provision of transport and logistical activities. They will also find employment in the positions of operational employees.
Graduates meet the requirements of international regulations and may be employed as pilots of civil air service providers anywhere in the EU. They have good theoretical fundamentals and corresponding flight experience. They are prepared for type-based training at any generation level of airborne equipments of aeroplanes for commercial use or transport aeroplanes. After education completion, the graduates may also operate in the field of army aviation.
The graduates may work successfully lower management level in executive professions in transport and forwarding companies providing and purchasing shipping services in domestic and sea shipping and services of domestic river or sea port. They may also operate in the field of tourism in organisation and provision of personal boat transport on navigable streams and closed ones, in state administration and local government authorities, in state specific supervision authorities in the field of inland navigation, upon administration and maintenance of waterways and in the field of providing operation of multimodal logistical centres, etc.
Postal Technologies and Services
Graduates from the interdepartmental study programme are capable of analysing processes and solving problems under the conditions of service companies with relocation activities. In relation to the subjects focused on economics, banking and financial sector, operation and management of post and information-communication technologies, they seek options for their efficient management and propose adequate solutions of modern procedures and marketing support in technical and economic areas. They find employment as middle management in network companies, in express and courier services, banking and financial sector, as well as in other service companies. Completion of the first level of study, however, is mainly a good quality base for fluent transition to the second level of university study within the study programme Postal Engineering.
Forwarding and Logistics
Graduates from this study meet the requirements for professional capability to perform licensed trades in road transport and forwarding. The graduates will operate successfully in forwarding and transport organisations at the departments of logistics in the executive positions of forwarders, handlers, and transport managers. They will also find employment in the positions of operational managers and executive employees for ordering transport services in large production and distribution organisations.
Transport Services in Personal Transport
Graduates will find employment in companies providing public transport at regional level, state-level, or international level but also in positions of public administration that supply public services of region (MDVRR SR, authorities of higher territorial unit, towns). Graduates also will find employment in companies providing logistics of passenger transport, e. g. taxi service. Graduates will find employment in the tourism sector that providing transport services by various types of transport systems, from and to the centre of tourism. Graduates will find employment in the bodies of state administration and in self-government, that manage passenger transport in the context of transport and land-use planning, urbanism and tourism development in the region that cater for protection of the environment. Graduation of the first level of higher education is particularly basis for passing into the second level of higher education, in the field of Transport services.
Economics and Management of Enterprise
Graduates from the first level of university study in the study programme Economics and Management of Enterprise are able to analyse simple economic situations in companies and take simple managerial decisions. They are capable of solving medium demanding tasks in the field of calculations, budgets, planning and organisation of company process. They will find managerial positions mainly in small and medium companies.
The graduates of the Bachelor's study programme Financial Management can realize in the middle and lower grade of managing especially in manufacturing and non-manufacturing corporations and also in financial institutions. Study field content creates very good conditions for realisation in financial divisions of home and foreign companies or in governmental agency. The graduates can also realize in extra-company sphere like economic chamber, business corporations, state institutions with business area, etc. Gained study skills qualified the graduates for the next study with high level of autonomy.
Electronic Business and Management
Graduates from this study programme are able to analyse processes and solve problems under the condition of new communication forms introduced through electronic business and its management. They find employment in managerial positions of middle management and upon exploitation of information and communication technologies and services in companies and organisations of services as operational managers, sales representatives, sales managers or consultants. In case of establishing their own company, they are also able to work as executive managers of a small or medium company in the field of business and services and operate as an active management element in the value chain of service company. Completion of the first level of study, however, is mainly a good quality base for fluent transition to the second level of university study.
Faculty of operation and economics of transport and communications is one of the best faculty in the Slovak republic, as demonstrated by the fact that among the first universities in SR that the University of Žilina was included between Universities type of High school education institutions. see.
The Faculty of operation and economics of transport and communications is the Faculty evaluated positively. In 2007 by all faculties in the Slovak Republic was included the FPEDAS Faculty the seventh place. see.
In 2010 by all economics faculties in the Slovak Republic was included the FPEDAS Faculty the fifth place. The evaluation was:

Faculty of operation and economics of transport and communications monitor the enforcement of its graduates on the labour market. Each graduate we will contact in respect of its application in practice and ask for a referral. Recommendation processing into the content of the study so as to reflect the requirements of the learning experience. Also monitoring the number of job seeker registered at the employment office.

For degree programs in full-time form at the FPEDAS Faculty in Slovak language does not apply the school-fees.
For degree programs in full-time form in English language are apply school-fees. About the actual school-fees please ask the Study Department.
- For bachelor study a copy of the leaving examination certificate and year-end certificate for the secondary school must be enclosed. The originals of certificates and leaving examination certificate must be brought in person for presentation on the admission procedure date. The faculty allows the applicant to participate in the admission procedure (Section 58 par. 1 of the Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher-Education Institutions and on amendments and supplements of certain acts) also in case that the student had objective reasons for not meeting the basic condition for admission to bachelor study: completion of full secondary education or full secondary vocational education, which will be evaluated individually.
- A copy of the payment slip confirming payment or copy of the transfer order must be attached to the application. Each applicant is obliged to bring in person the original of the payment slip or original of the transfer order for presenting on the admission procedure date.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Original of the certificate from secondary school (leaving examination, year-end certificates) will be returned to the applicant against signature after the admission procedure ended on the entrance examination date.

If the applicant wishes to participate in the admission procedure in several study programmes, applications must be sent and the respective fee must be paid separately for each study programme.
All applicants must come to the entrance examination on the defined date where mandatory attachments of the application will be checked. In case that the applicant meets the conditions for admission without entrance examination, only by an interview, based on the achieved study result average, these results will be checked by the committee on the date of the entrance examination.

Only graduates from grammar schools with arithmetic average for the penultimate year of study (not leaving examination year) up to 1.20 including will be admitted without entrance examination. This study result average is valid for studying the following study programmes of bachelor study:

only graduates from grammar schools with arithmetic average for the penultimate year of study (not leaving examination year) up to 1.60 including and from further (other) secondary schools with arithmetic average for the penultimate year of study (not leaving examination year) up to 1.20 including will be admitted without entrance examination.
All other applicants must attend the admission procedure according to clause B.
- By attending entrance examination, writing tests
The entrance examination will be performed in the form of tests:
- from Mathematics (max. 40 points),
- General Knowledge (max. 40 points),
- language knowledge of the selected foreign language (max. 20 points).
The term of the entrance examination may not be changed due to operational reasons. UApplicants for the study programmes Air Transport and Professional Pilot, who hold a sailplane pilot license or other airworthiness certificate (PPL, CPL, ATP) or aircraft mechanic certificate, will gain 10 preferential points in the entrance examination.
