The aim of the international scientific conference is to give an opportunity to discuss new processes, procedures, impacts of individual social phenomena on the activities of economic entities and the environment in which they operate. The conference is a platform for deepening the relationship between education, research and development and practice and thus is a form of realization of the theoretical concept of the knowledge triangle.
Extensive changes in the business environment evoke a number of questions and challenges for research. Network-based industries are undergoing technological, institutional and regulatory changes. Traditional network industries in the fields of transport, energy, electronic communications, water and sewage have been shaped in recent years by privatization, deregulation and re-regulation processes. Over the past 10 years, profound technological transformations, in particular digitalisation, have further transformed these traditional network industries and led to the emergence of a new type of network industries, namely digital platforms. These, in turn, require new and innovative ways of regulation. Climate and environmental change also contribute to transformation.
